Jim proudly served in the United States Army for 30 years, including two tours in Vietnam and an extended assignment in Germany. Following his military retirement, Jim and Susan settled in Fairfield, Virginia, where they restored a historic manor home and spent nearly three decades pursuing their passions for gardening, antiques, and preserving history. Together they cultivated seven acres of award-winning wildflowers and gardens while operating a local antique shop specializing in American Country antiques and collectibles. Through years of travel across the United States and Europe, they assembled an exceptional collection of antiques, decorative arts, and unique treasures. Susan was also active in local gardening, quilting, knitting, and rug-hooking organizations, and her extensive collection of crafting supplies reflects a lifetime devoted to those hobbies.
